Importing Elmer field maps

This note provides a detailed description how to generate finite-element field maps using the mesher Gmsh and the open-source field solver Elmer and how to use them for electron transport simulations in Garfield++.

The source code and scripts for the examples discussed in this document are available in the folder Examples/Elmer of the Garfield++ source tree.
